About the position
As a Regional Specialist you will join a regional section consisting of several Regional Specialists. You will bring in political, social and cultural context of the region as well as a relevant activist network. You have a good insight into the dynamics of social movements in the country/region and ideally speak the respective language.
About the Section meetings
The regional section meets once a month in the evening in Amsterdam. You are expected to attend at least 8 of 12 monthly meetings as well as actively prepare for them by reviewing the incoming applications. You can expect approx. 2-5 hours per month to participate in the section meetings.
Who are we looking for?
- You have knowledge of socio-political relations in the region and ideally speak at least one of the languages from the region;
- You have a relevant network of activists and critical grassroots movements in the region;
- You recognize and believe in the crucial role that social movements and activists play in social change;
- You are committed to join in person meetings for at least 8 out of 12 evenings per year (held in Amsterdam, approx. 2-3 hours per month)
- You are based in The Netherlands (necessary to process confidential applications), ideally you come from the Caucasus region.
