Direct action

Het Actiefonds is a fund specifically dedicated to direct action and projects that are too politically controversial or radical to secure funding elsewhere.

By “direct action,” we mean, for example: demonstrations, blockades, occupations, strikes, uprisings, revolutions, and other creative forms of (nonviolent) confrontational protest and resistance. We do not consider meetings, petitions, culture, and media to be direct action; although these often play an important role within a movement, they lack the activist and confrontational character that we wish to support. We also do not support projects based solely on raising awareness or education.
We werken niet met tussenpartijen maar zorgen dat financiële middelen rechtstreeks bij de actiegroepen terechtkomen. We opereren zonder directie en andere bureaucratische of hiërarchische belemmeringen.

We trust that local activists know best how to do their work. We do not exert influence in exchange for financial support.

Confidential applications

It is also possible to submit a confidential application. In some cases, activism can be dangerous because activists are criminalized for the work they do or who they are. In such cases, you can indicate in the application that it is confidential.

You can also submit an application using PGP (with a PGP-key or by sending a Proton email to our Proton email address) or via Signal.
